Bye Bye Züri, Good-Bye
02:28
|
|||
all the dreams, all the schemes, clashed
making a memory
whirling leaves, twirling nights, gone
captured in photographs
catch the phone, missed your call, again
we'll ring you back I swear
underground, playing hard, laugh
catching the night bus home
CHORUS
bright lights and those slow days
gotta go, gotta find a new way
gotta go, we just can't stay
by Zuri, bye bye
by Zuri, bye bye
see the crane, dance in the street and run
you're gonna miss your tram
the second wave, steal a ray, float
watching the lights go out
break your heart, break the bank, cry
start it all up again
drink too much, hurt your head, damn
we'll never do that again
falling snow, lucy in the sky, cold
the years are flying by
falling snow, lucy in the sky, cold
the years are flying by

In Our Room
03:08
|
|||
There’s a grace gone underground. Some old fight that won’t be bound.
CHORUS: They’re all in our room. In our room.
There’s a million stories here. A thousand lies that disappear. There’s a million stories here. A thousand sighs you’ll never hear.
Dust on off that ego crown. Learn to lay that privilege down. Dust on off that ego crown. Board a bus and get outta town.

Stateless

I learned how to stand tall and pledge allegiance to a flag, fallen down from spacious skies to amber waves gone gray. I learned how to handle a gun, shooting targets in the yard. I put down my rifle, I saw it could only kill. I learned how to drive a car from the Polk County Law. I drank Boone’s Farm, I smoked some pot in High School years ago.
A photo of my brother and me and I see the fists landing blows. I’m writing out my fury, but the winds have sure died down. I see your rich getting richer and I see your poor falling down. I see a nation’s destiny as weapons broker of the world. As soon as I could make a fist, I aimed it toward your eye. I sold my gear, I packed my bags, threw down the cash, pressed GO.
When the planes hit the towers and those old devils rose, I had a friend who said to me, “we got what we deserved.” And when the right came out to talk and they put it to a vote, they put a man in office, who stands there as a hoax. I learned how to leave a country I was told was great. Dragged down and mired in, tragedy and hate.
I’m writing down my future and I see the ink’s run dry.
I had to stop. I can’t turn back and pledge allegiance to a flag, flying over ramparts turned gun metal black.

Dodging Bullets
03:16
|
|||
I’ve got shadows in my eye and hiding deep in me. Even with my clouding view, it don’t mean that I can’t see. You can ride on that western trail, you can gallop far away. You can hide and cower there, but those bullets fly your way.
I’ve walked now in your footsteps long. I’ve followed you too far. And all those views I’ve set upon, that I’ll never see again. I’ve stood now on this stage of games, I’ve seen the lights shine bright. And all those bullets flying near are not meant as a guide.
I’ve never lived my life that way, in the fantasy you saw. And when the storm blew over, you were left gasping for air.
It never came to the light the tragedies we held. Some things we buried oh so deep, like a cancer on the field. The people gone before us now, the roses we never grew. The heavy crowns we got to wear, the shining diamonds of our youth. The dreams we lost while drifting didn’t matter along the way. They’ve come flying back around the browning fields we walk. The turning leaves we see them now, they’re flying by so fast. The bullets on the other hand are striking hard and low.
But I never thought you’d be the first to go.

Neighbours & Relations

There’s a monkey in the hall. Turning light bulbs, watch him fall. There’s a monkey in the hall. We don’t want him any more.
There’s a monkey 10 feet tall. Shadows over urban sprawl. There’s a monkey 10 feet tall. We don’t want that any more.
There’s monkey on the throne. Crunching down on all your bones. There’s a monkey on your throne. We don’t need him any more.
Your shoes are full of stones. Pick your feet up when you walk on my floor.

2 Crows
04:43
|
|||
There's 2 crows in the neighbourhood
They sit and wait, they watch and wait
There's 2 crows on the antenna
They sit and wait, they watch and wait
2 crows
They get in your head and they crush your bones
There’s 2 crows at the end of time
There’s 2 crows at the end of the line

Bronze Disease
03:52
|
|||
It’s time, for you to go
That bronze disease, it runs deep and slow
It’s time, for you to go
Rust on your feet, rust on your head
CHORUS
Hoo-rah, no white right.
No white right to memorialise your hate
It’s time, Roger’s gone
Dread the one said you’re not free
It’s time the Uni’s free
Clear your thinking about General Lee

I Can Breathe

You’ve got to learn how to get your knee off my neck.
You’ve got to learn how to get your knee off my neck.
You’ve got to learn how to keep your knee off my neck.
You’ve got to learn how to stop pushing me down.
CHORUS: hardship, triumph, yeah
You’ve got to learn how to get your feet off my head.
You’ve got to learn how to get your feet off my head.
You’ve got to learn how to keep your feet off my head.
You’ve got to learn how to stop holding me back.

Alice, bring the rabbit. I’m late. Again.
A second lasts forever.
